Now, leave it in that gear, and let the rpms get back into that range, and it starts again. That to me rules out any driveline issues. It has to be engine/transmission related. And the torque converter is what is going to experience the load. I also have a lot of vibes from 3000 rpms and up, but even under no load in neutral. Shudder under load at low rpms. ... Could it be an injector or Torque converter? ... kind of felt like it was selecting two gears at once and would not do it under ... I have replaced both front left and right CV axels, have replaced engine mounts and have removed drive shaft with no change, in fact the vibration seemed to get worse after replacing the axels.
In a GM vehicle, a torque converter problem (in a 4 speed Turbohydromatic with o/d) the vibration occurred at abut 45 to 50 UNDER LOAD, like your problem. They ended up replacing the torque converter. ALSO, DOUBLE CHECK to MAKE SURE the tranny fluid is a) at correct level and 2) the CORRECT FLUID.
